Harry Kane has agreed in principle to a new long-term contract with FC Bayern that would run through June 2029, and the salary terms have reportedly been settled as well.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, citing Sky reporter Michael Bridge, reports that Bayern and Kane have reached a verbal agreement on the deal. Both the contract term and the financial terms have already been negotiated. The contract documents are now with the lawyers, who are reviewing them and are expected to approve the deal for signing.
Although the new annual salary has not been publicly disclosed, an agreement on compensation is reportedly in place. Kane, 33, is currently under contract through the summer of 2027. The new deal would tie him to the club for two more years.
Long-Term Plans Take Shape
Bayern has made clear in recent months that it plans for the long term with its star striker. Kane has also signaled several times that he feels at home in Munich and is open to staying longer.
Sporting director Max Eberl recently said talks were going well but had not yet been finalized, and that some details still needed to be worked out. Those details now appear to be resolved, leaving only the legal formalities.
Next Steps
Once the lawyers review and approve the documents, the signing could take place. The deal would settle one of the most important questions about the future of the Bayern squad: Kane wants to stay, and both sides have reportedly agreed on the contract term and salary.
