Emlékezés Projekt

The Memory Project is a visual archive of Hungarian-American immigrants who came after WWII and the revolution of 1956. These in-depth interviews, collected from cities throughout the United States, are made public, with minimal editing, in both Hungarian and English. The project began in the Fall of 2014 which the generous funding of the Hungary Initiatives Foundation, and is on-going - and under construction. We are currently looking for funding to continue this important archival project.

The project was created by writer and community organizer Andrea Lauer Rice (member of the Board of the Hungarian American Coalition) and documentary filmmaker Réka Pigniczky. Réka, also a founding member of CECI, is known for her documentary trilogy dealing with the Hungarian diaspora.
