Réka Pigniczkyis a television journalist and documentary filmmaker who has worked for theAssociated Press Television for over 10 years, mostly in NewYork City and Budapest.Next to her work in journalism, she co-founded Pige. Ltd (now 56films) in 1996, a company that hasproduced two documentaries and currently has two under development.  Réka, who was born and raised in the United States to Hungarian refugee parents, hasan M.A. in journalism and international relations from ColumbiaUniversity in NewYork, an M.A. in political science from the CentralEuropean Universityin Budapest, and a B.A. in Political Science andArt History from the University of California in SanDiego. JOURNEY HOME was her first documentary featurefilm, which she directed, wrote and co-produced. Released in Hungary in thefall of 2006, it has received much acclaim and a number of awards. Script - Story Editor: Pierre-Olivier Francois

Pierre-OlivierFrançois, a French journalist and documentary filmmaker, was born in 1971. Hestudied political science in Paris and Berlin(MA), and art history in Lyon (MA), and went to journalism school in Bordeaux. Since then, hehas worked for numerous newspapers in France,Germany and Britain, and has been press attaché at theUnited Nations in New York.Since 1995 he has been a reporter for the evening news of the French- Germanpublic television ARTE and their cultural magazines.

Since 1999, hehas also done a number of documentaries, including The big step back, aboutlanguage teaching (ARTE, 26 min, French-German journalism prize 2001), NorthKorea, the border and the war (ARTE, YLE, TSR, 52 min, 2003), The gift oflanguages, on bilingualism (ARTE, WDR, TV Catalunya, 52 min, 2004), PizzaNostra (France 5, Italian & Japanese TV, 52 minutes, 2005), Biofuel- thebrazilian revolution (ARTE, Planete, Globo TV, 52 min, 2006), 2 nations, onehistory, about the writing of a non-national history (ARTE, France 3, NDR, 52minutes, 2007). He is currently working on a 90 minutes documentary film aboutthe development of Siberia (ARTE, NDR &Ugra TV).

PO François alsowas the researcher for Reporter lost (ARTE & SDR, 90 minutes, dir: J.Feindt, 2004), which won the Grimme prize of best German documentary of theyear, and story-editor for Journey Home, by Réka Pigniczky (88 min, 2006),which won numerous awards in Central and Eastern Europe.

Luca Poncelliniis an architect and designer, from Torino,Italy. Hegraduated from the Faculty of Architecture, Politecnico di Torino, in 2002;achieved a Doctorate degree in History of Architecture and Town Planning at thePolitecnico di Torino and Politecnico di Milano in 2006. He wrote hisdissertation – to be published later in 2008 -- on the architecture of L.E.Hudec, and is one of the best-known experts on his work. He is currently aprofessor at NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Milano and at the Politecnicodi Milano, Piacenza.He is a member of Cliostraat since 1998 (www.cliostraat.com), a member ofBrigata Tognazzi (2000-2002), and the founder of Zeronitriti in 2001(www.zeronitriti.com). Between 1998 and 2007, he worked in the field ofarchitectural design and research in Italy,Germany, Japan, China,Thailand, Croatia, Netherlands,Senagal, and Algeria.He is the author of articles for several publications in the field ofarchitecture, author and curator of the italian traslation of: Bernard Tschumi,Matthew Berman, "Index Architecture", Milano, Postmedia Books, 2004.

 

Camera: Gergő Kiss

Gergő Kiss is acameraman,  photographer and filmdirector. He filmed and directed his own documentary short in 2004 titled Összhang(Harmony). He has worked on several international film projects in Hungary as afirst and second assistant director and also as a location scout and castingdirector. He has extensive experience as a cameraman for TV2 and MTV in Hungary. Hiswrote and directed his first film, Előrejelzés (Forecast) in 1996. He receiveda degree in visual design from the HungarianUniversity of AppliedArts. He was the director of photography on Réka Pigniczky’s first documentary:Journey Home: a story from the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

László Hargittaiis well renown as a documentary and feature film editor in Hungary. Hismajor works include a number of documentary films by the award-winning directorTamás Almási, including Our Cells, From Home to Home, and just recently (2008) Puskas:the most famous Hungarian. He also edited Almási’s newest feature film Mario,the Magician. He edited András Salamon’s film Huttyán as well as CsabaSzekeres’s film Ruins and Flowers. Hargittai has also edited a number ofHungarian feature films, including Now you see me now you don‘t by AttilaSzász, which won a number of international awards,  and Hungarian Fragment by András Solyom. Healso directed Journey Home: a story from the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Hargittaiis the technical director and co-owner of 4-Cut Digital Studio in Budapest (www.4cut.hu).

 

VisualResearcher:  Virág Csejdy, director ofHudec Heritage Project

Virág Csejdy isthe director of the HHP in which  she isresponsible for concept development  andweb design. She is also conducting research on all visual archive materialsabout L.E. Hudec that have recently surfaced (2008). She is a free-lance webdesigner and project leader. Her former works include:  from 2000 to 2004 she designed and developedwebsites as a project leader  at thepremiere Hungarian internet film portal Film.hu. This work included sites forfilmunio.hu, mmka.hu, pim.hu, filmtortenet.hu. She also designs film and artwebsites and works as project manager for other Hungarian visual artists. Shecompleted her studies in visual art design at the Moholy-Nagy University of Artand Design in Budapest and also completed an MAdegree in multi-media at the Instituteof Art and Media inUtrecht (HKU). She is L.E. Hudec’s grandniece.
